WHL:

Kelowna Rockets  1  Prince George Cougars  0  (OT)

Defenceman and Rockets Captain Tyson Feist scored the game’s only goal at 1:02 of overtime before 1,606 fans at CN Centre.

Ty Young made 35 saves in the P.G. net as Kelowna outshot Prince George 36-21.

Talyn Boyko earned his second shutout of the season.

The (22-37-4-1) Cougars are tied with the (22-37-4-1) Spokane Chiefs for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, just a point behind the (22-36-5-1) Victoria Royals and the (23-35-4-0) Vancouver Giants.

Vancouver has six games remaining, P.G., Spokane, and Victoria all have four left.

The Cougars, who have dropped 14 of their last 17, host the Rockets again tonight.

They also host Victoria on Saturday before closing on the road at Kamloops on April 15th and at Kelowna on April 16th.

The (38-19-1-5) Rockets are 5th in the Western Conference, four points behind the Seattle Thunderbirds with one game in hand.

Cranbrook Bucks  5  Prince George Spruce Kings  3 

The best-of-seven first-round series is tied 2-2 with Game five Thursday in P.G. and Game six back in Cranbrook on Saturday. A 7th and deciding game, if needed would be played Monday in Prince George.

Luc Laylin scored twice and added an assist for the Spruce Kings who were outshot 29-24 before 1,898 fans in Cranbrook.
