WHL:

Vancouver Giants  3  Kelowna Rockets  2  (Sunday)

The Giants ended an 8-game losing streak and jumped into 6th in the Western Conference standings.

The (23-38-4-1) Prince George Cougars are tied with the (23-38-4-1) Spokane Chiefs for 7th, one point ahead of the (22-38-5-1) Victoria Royals and one point behind the (24-37-4-0) Giants.

Vancouver has three games remaining, P.G., Victoria, and Spokane have two left.

The Cougars will close on the road at Kamloops on Friday and at Kelowna on Saturday.

The Giants host Seattle on Wednesday, host Kelowna on Friday and visit Kamloops on Saturday.

The Royals host Spokane on Friday and Saturday.

Ethan Samson snapped a 1-1 tie on the power-play with 6:31 left in the third period before 2,759 fans at CN Centre.

Samson also assisted on the other P.G. goal by Captain Jonny Hooker.

Ty Young made 29 saves as the Royals outshot the Cats 30-23.

Rowan Miller scored at 13:42 of overtime after he tied the game at 2-2 with just 3:17 left in the third period before 3,002 fans in Cranbrook.

The only Monday game in the NHL has Winnipeg at Montreal.

The Vancouver Canucks, coming off Saturday’s 4-2 victory over San Jose, are six points out of a playoff spot with nine games left (six at home).

The (35-28-10) Canucks host the (40-29-4) Vegas Golden Knights Tuesday night at 7:00.

The Golden Knights sit two points out of a playoff position.

Vancouver is 27-12-7 since Bruce Boudreau took over as coach.

Golf:

American Scott Scheffler has a green jacket and is the number-one ranked golfer in the world.

The 25-year-old Scheffler, at 10-under-278, won the Masters by three shots over Rory McIlroy.

Top Canadian Corey Conners tied for 6th at 3-under.

Tiger Woods was 47th at 13-over.
