Quinn Hughes scored 51 seconds into overtime for the Canucks, who extended their winning streak to four games.

Vancouver is six points out of a playoff spot with eight games left (five at home).

The (36-28-10) Canucks host the Arizona Coyotes Thursday night at 7:00.

Vancouver is 28-12-7 since Bruce Boudreau took over as coach.

BCHL:

The Prince George Spruce Kings will play the Interior Division champion Penticton Vees in the second round of the BCHL playoffs.

The first two games will be played in Penticton Thursday and Saturday before the series shifts to P.G. Monday and Tuesday.

The Spruce Kings advanced by knocking out the Cranbrook Bucks in six games while the Vees eliminated the Trail Smoke Eaters in five.

The other Interior semifinal will feature the Salmon Arm Silverbacks against the West Kelowna Warriors.

Game 1 – Thursday, April 14th – Prince George @ Penticton – 7 PM
Game 2 – Saturday, April 16th – Prince George @ Penticton – 7 PM

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars visit the Kamloops Blazers on Friday and the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday to conclude their regular season.

The (23-38-4-1) Cougars are tied with the (23-38-4-1) Spokane Chiefs for 7th place in the WHL Western Conference, one point ahead of the (22-38-5-1) Victoria Royals and one point behind the (24-37-4-0) Vancouver Giants.

Vancouver has three games remaining, P.G., Victoria, and Spokane have two left.

The Giants host Seattle tonight, host Kelowna on Friday and visit Kamloops on Saturday.

The Royals host Spokane on Friday and Saturday.

The top eight advance to the playoffs next week.
