BCHL:

Penticton Vees  2  Prince George Spruce Kings  1

Josh Nadeau snapped a 1-1 tie with just 4.9 seconds left in the third period before 3,002 fans in Penticton.

The Vees lead the best-of-7 Interior Division semifinal series 1-0 with Game 2 Saturday in Penticton.

The series will shift to P.G. for Games 3 and 4 Monday and Tuesday.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars visit the Kamloops Blazers tonight and the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday to conclude their regular season.

The (23-38-4-1) Cougars are tied with the (23-38-4-1) Spokane Chiefs for 7th place in the WHL Western Conference, one point ahead of the (22-38-5-1) Victoria Royals and one point behind the (24-38-4-0) Vancouver Giants.

P.G., Vancouver, Victoria, and Spokane all have two games left.  

The Giants host Kelowna tonight and visit Kamloops on Saturday.

The Royals host Spokane tonight and Saturday.

The top eight advance to the playoffs next week.

NHL: (12 Thursday games with 5 Canadian teams in action)

J.T. Miller racked up 5 assists for the Canucks who extended their winning streak to 5 games.

Vancouver is 4 points out of a playoff spot (behind third place LA in the Pacific Division) with 7 games remaining (4 at home).

The (37-28-10) Canucks host Dallas Monday night at 7:30 and Ottawa Tuesday night at 7:00.

Vancouver is 29-12-7 since Bruce Boudreau took over as coach.

There are just two NHL games tonight (Friday): Winnipeg at Florida and NY Islanders at Montreal.

The Toronto Raptors will start their first-round NBA playoff series against the 76’ers Saturday (3:00 PT) in Philadelphia.

The (48-34) Raptors finished in 5th place in the Eastern Conference while the (51-31) 76’ers were 4th.
