BCHL:

Penticton Vees  3  PG Spruce Kings  2

The Vees broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the 3rd before 943 fans in PG.

Rowan Miller scored both goals for the Spruce Kings who had their season come to an end.

Penticton swept the best-of-7 Interior Division semifinal series 4-0.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars visit the Portland Winterhawks Friday and Saturday in the first two games of their WHL Western Conference quarterfinal.

The best-of-7 first-round series will shift back to P.G. on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26th and 27th.

The (47-16-3-2) Winterhawks finished third in the conference, one point out of first and 46 points ahead of Prince George.

The (24-39-4-1) Cougars are in the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Prince George ended up 6th, beating out Spokane and Vancouver on a tie-breaker after all three teams finished with 53 points, one more than 9th place Victoria.

NHL: (10 Tuesday games with Edmonton the only Canadian team idle)

The shootout loss ended the Canucks six-game winning streak.

With five games left, Vancouver is four points out of a Western Conference wildcard spot and five points behind the third-place LA Kings in the Pacific Division.

The (38-28-11) Canucks visit the Minnesota Wild on Thursday (5:00 PT).

Vancouver will also play at Calgary on Saturday, host Seattle on Tuesday, host LA on Thursday, April 28th, and visit Edmonton on Friday, April 29th.
