WHL:
The Prince George Cougars are gearing up for their first playoff action in five years.
The Cougars visit the Portland Winterhawks Friday and Saturday in the opening two games of their WHL Western Conference quarterfinal.
The best-of-7 first-round series will shift back to P.G. on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
The Winterhawks won all four regular-season meetings between the two teams.

The (38-28-11) Vancouver Canucks visit the Minnesota Wild tonight (Thursday 5:00 PT).
With five games left, Vancouver is four points out of a Western Conference wildcard spot and five points behind the third-place LA Kings in the Pacific Division.
Vancouver will also play at Calgary on Saturday, host Seattle on Tuesday, host LA on Thursday, April 28th, and visit Edmonton on Friday, April 29th.
The Canucks are 30-12-8 since Bruce Boudreau took over as coach.

The season ended for the Prince George Spruce Kings when they lost to the Penticton Vees 3-2 on Tuesday.
Penticton swept the best-of-7 Interior Division semifinal series 4-0.
