Collaborative effort aims to help Ukrainians who are PG-bound

The PG for Ukraine website is a place dedicated to providing information and support for Ukrainians arriving in the community.

This project is a collaborative effort, and CEO for the Prince George Chamber of Commerce Todd Corrigall said the intent is to bring everything under one simplified hub.

“Our spot behind this is, we’re trying to assist this group that Charles (Scott) and others spear-headed in providing information in a singular source, so that it’s easy to find, easy to access, and easy to understand.”

“What we’ve come to realize over the years is Prince George is a entirely supportive community, and in these times of crisis we definitely see our city come together. So the role that we can play is indicating where those supports exist, by connecting people with businesses and our community, and by providing single source information,” added Corrigall.

The website helps people who are looking to support this movement, whether it be providing jobs or homes to Ukrainians who are coming to Prince George, or a range of other supports that are needed.

It also provides information for Ukrainians, offering links to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, among other things.

The work on this website is thanks to The Edge Communications, the PG Chamber of Commerce, and Shift Creative Solutions.

“Realistically, this is a wide ranging group of people that have been brought together for a singular cause, and that is to create a positive impact for people whose lives are being tremendously impacted, and flipped upside down. And this just a good testament to the community that we have in Prince George.”
