Exploration Place looking to open mid June

Tomorrow’s (Monday) Prince George City Council Meeting will see a presentation from Tracy Calogheros, the CEO of The Exploration Place.

Calogheros is giving an update on the work being done at the museum in anticipation for a June 18th opening date.

The building has been undergoing renovations for what’s called the Living Evolution Renovation Project, which has a price tag of $1.4 million.

It’s been fully funded through government grants, foundations, and corporate support.

Some of the changes to the building listed in the presentation include new animal ambassadors, a full sized wooly mammoth skeleton, a climbing structure for kids, and a refurbished pool hall.

The City will be having a special meeting at noon tomorrow to discuss some of the fires that have occurred in the community.

City Council will also be looking at the Quarterly Procurement report, which takes a look at some of the City contracts between January and March.

A Freedom Mobile tower and Rogers tower are getting the greenlight to be built in the city, and Northern Interior Communities Association is looking for support for its grant application to help in their marketing efforts.
