Despite a harsh winter and shipping challenges, Conifex Timber has announced a first quarter net profit of $1.6 million.
CEO Ken Shields also discussed the company’s strategy for growth moving forward during a conference call Monday morning.
Shields says other options include modernizing and upgrading the site two mill they are already operating in Mackenzie or re-starting their idle site one mill.
He says they will provide more details at their next board meeting in June.
