Just after 4:00 a.m. this morning, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a business on the 700-block of 4th Avenue.
According to police, officers attended the business were met by a burgundy Dodge pickup truck pulling a flat-deck trailer, leaving the area.
Efforts to stop the vehicle were attempted, but due to the vehicle driving erratically and at high rates of speed, it was not pursued.
A short-time later, police received a report of another break-and-enter at a business in the 1700-block of Queensway.
Police had also determined the vehicle that had fled from them was stolen from that location earlier.
The suspect truck was located without the trailer shortly after 5:00 a.m., heading southbound on Old Summit Lake Road.
According to police, aa spike belt was successfully deployed on Northwood Pulpmill Road, briefly disabling the vehicle.
During this encounter, one officer discharged their fire arm.
Police say the vehicle fled again, and continued to drive dangerously, colliding with a police vehicle.
The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed north on Old Summit Lake Road, before turning southbound on the Hart Highway and colliding with a second police vehicle near Lehman Street.
Officers deployed a second spike belt, but the vehicle failed to stop again.
Police stopped their pursuit of the vehicle, as commuter traffic was increasing on the roads, and police were concerned for public safety as they observed the suspect vehicle driving into oncoming traffic.
The suspect vehicle was found abandoned a short time later in an alleyway near 5th Avenue and Burden Street.
The suspects were later located and arrested with the assistance of a Police Service Dog team.
“Thankfully, two of the involved officers only sustained minor injuries as a result of this dynamic situation,” said PG RCMP Spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.
“Investigators are working diligently on this investigation, which is still in its infancy.”
Anyone with video surveillance or dash cam footage capturing the suspect vehicle’s movements is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP.

A pair of prolific offenders have been arrested by the Prince George RCMP after what is being called a “dynamic police event.”
Officers were initially called to the Hart area of the city after a stolen vehicle was involved in a break and enter.
According to Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, this led to an incident where an RCMP cruiser was rammed at the intersection of Lehman Street and the Hart Highway this morning (Wednesday).
“A member did fire his service pistol in response to the ramming of the police vehicle,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper to MyPGNow.com.
Cooper added the suspects did flee from the area and multiple spike belts were deployed but they were eventually apprehended along 5th Avenue and Burden Street.
The culprits are being held in custody until their next court appearance, which is scheduled for later today (Wednesday).
Cooper stated both suspects are well-known to police.
No officers were injured during the incident.
