The Prince George Hospice and Palliative Care Society kicked off the 2022 Colour Walk at the CN Centre parking lot today (Sunday).

Plumes of blue, orange, green, and other coloured powder could be seen peppered on people as they walked to support Hospice.

Prince George-Valemount MLA Shirley Bond said that many of us get to witness the care Hospice gives to the community.

“At the very worst times in our lives, Hospice gives us the opportunity to have some degree of peace, and care, and love.”

Drumming took place at the event as well, and Wes Mitchell spoke about how it personally affected his family.

“My Uncle Ron was in Hospice House, he passed on from multiple myeloma, of cancer, in 2018. So we’re bringing the spirit today for the ones who were lost.”

It was also noted that PG resident Jim Terrion went above and beyond the 100 km goal for the Colour Walk, and was going to have over 1,600 km by the end of May.

The money raised from this year’s Colour Walk is going towards an outdoor recreation shed for Hospice.
