UNBC and the City of Prince George celebrating accessibility in PG

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is Red Shirt Day, or Access Awareness Day, and UNBC and the City of Prince George will be promoting accessibility.

The City’s Advisory Committee on Accessibility said an event is taking place at UNBC at 12 PM tomorrow.

This year’s theme is “Accessibility is Inclusion”, and the committee said that the City is pushing for more inclusivity through its Age-Friendly Strategy.

Local governments, accessibility committees, and disability serving organizations are also being encouraged to sign up for a small grant to host accessibility events next year.

$500 is being made available through SPARC (Social Planning and Research Council of British Columbia) with funding support from the Federal government.
