NHL: 

Colorado Avalanche  6  Edmonton Oilers  5  (OT)

Artturi Lehkonen scored at 1:19 of overtime for the Avs, who swept the Western Conference Final 4-0.

Cale Makar set up the winner and finished with five points (1 goal, 4 assists) as the Avalanche erased a 3-1 deficit after two periods.

Colorado is 7-0 on the road in the playoffs and will have an extended rest before competing in the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in 21 years (when the franchise won its second title in 2001)

The NHL Eastern Conference Final resumes tonight (5:00 PT) in Tampa Bay with the New York Rangers ahead of the Lightning 2-1.

After six seasons on the job, the Boston Bruins fired head coach Bruce Cassidy.

The Bruins made the playoffs in each of Cassidy’s six seasons and in 2019 Boston reached the Stanley Cup Final.

 

WHL:

The scene has shifted to Kent, Washington in the best-of-7 WHL Championship Series that is tied 1-1.

The Seattle Thunderbirds host the Edmonton Oil Kings tonight and Wednesday.

The Thunderbirds last six playoff games have all been decided by one goal.

Toronto Blue Jays  8 Kansas City Royals  0

The (32-22) Blue Jays have won 10 of their last 12 games.

Toronto is 1-0 on a six-game road trip that continues tonight (5:10 PT) against the (17-36) Royals in Kansas City.
