Seattle Thunderbirds  3  Edmonton Oil Kings  2

Seattle forward Nico Myatovic of Prince George assisted on the game-winning goal early in the 3rd period.

Edmonton defenceman Carson Golder of Smithers had a goal and an assist.

The Oil Kings lead the best-of-7 WHL Championship Series 3-2 with Game 6 Monday night (6:30 PT) in Edmonton.

The Thunderbirds are 6-0 when facing elimination in this year’s playoffs.

The WHL champion will advance to the Memorial Cup in Saint John, N.B., June 20-29.

Tampa won the Eastern Conference Final 4-2 to advance to the Stanley Cup Final against the Colorado Avalanche beginning Wednesday night (just after 5:00 PT) in Denver.

Steven Stamkos scored his second goal of the game with 6:32 left in the 3rd period to snap a 1-1 tie.

Tampa has won 11 consecutive playoff series.
