The Oil Kings are WHL champions for the third time (and first in eight years).

They won the best-of-7 final 4-2 to advance to the Memorial Cup in Saint John, N.B., June 20-29.

19-year-old defenceman Carson Golder of Smithers is among the players on the Oil Kings.

17-year-old forward Nico Myatovic of Prince George plays with the Thunderbirds.
