Regional District opens new used oil recycling centre

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) is opening a new used oil recycling facility at the Cummings Road Transfer Station.

Products like used lubricating oil, oil filters, oil containers, used antifreeze and anti freeze containers can be recycled at the station.

The recycling centre now includes a 10-foot modified sea container, and a 1,100 litre tank.

“This used oil recycling addition to their transfer station shows the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George’s continued commitment to accommodating the growing recycling needs of their community” said David Lawes, CEO, BC Used Oil Management Association. (BCUOMA)

“We are happy to see that BCUOMA’s partnership with the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has created a new, first-class used oil recycling infrastructure that is environmentally friendly, free, and easy to use.”

The RDFFG received a grant from the BCUOMA to open the recycling centre’s new oil collection facilities.
