It was the first road loss in the playoffs for the Avs who won their first seven away games.
Tampa put the game away with four goals in the 2nd period to improve its home winning streak to eight games.

The WHL-champion Edmonton Oil Kings play their opener in the four-team tournament today (3 p.m. PT) against the QMJHL-champion Shawinigan Cataractes.
Dating back seven years, the WHL champions have combined to lose their last 13 games at the Memorial Cup.

The Prince George Cougars will begin their 2022-23 WHL regular season on Friday, September 23rd when they host the Tri-City Americans.
The Cougars’ full schedule will be released at a later date.

The PG Cougars will play four pre-season games.
They face the Vancouver Giants on September 9th and Victoria Royals on September 10th in Port Coquitlam.
The Cougars conclude their pre-season with a home and home against the Kamloops Blazers: Friday, September 16th in Kamloops and Saturday the 17th at CN Centre in Prince George.

CFL:
Week 3 of the CFL season starts Thursday (4:30 PT) with Saskatchewan visiting Montreal.
The B.C. Lions return to action Saturday night at 7:00 when they host Toronto.
After two weeks four teams are unbeaten in the West.
Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, and Calgary are all 2-0 with B.C. 1-0.
Edmonton is last at 0-2.
In the East, Toronto is 1-0 while the other three teams, Ottawa, Hamilton, and Montreal are 0-2.
