NHL:

Colorado Avalanche  3  Tampa Bay Lightning  2  (OT)

Colorado leads the Final 3-1 with a chance to win the Stanley Cup on home ice Friday night (5:00 PT) in Denver.

Nazem Kadri, in his first game back after breaking his thumb in the previous series, scored at 12:02 of overtime.

Lightning coach Jon Cooper hinted after the game that he thought the winning goal should not have counted.

It appears the Avalanche had six skaters (plus a goalie) on the ice when Kadri tallied the winner.

Video of the goal showed that Nathan MacKinnon was about to step off the ice as Kadri — who had just jumped over the boards — received a pass, skated in and scored.

The loss ended Tampa’s 8-game home winning streak.
