MLB:

Toronto Blue Jays  6  Boston Red Sox  5

The Blue Jays rallied from behind with two runs in the bottom of the 9th.

The (42-32) Jays are 2-0 on an 8-game homestand that continues tonight (Wednesday 4:07 p.m. PT) against the (42-33) Red Sox.

Toronto is 2nd in the A.L. East, half a game ahead of Boston.

The Prince George Cougars have the 16th overall pick in the CHL Import Draft which will be held on Friday.

The other semifinal series will open tonight (Wednesday) at 8 at Kin 1 featuring the regular-season champion Canadian Brewhouse Devils against Northland Nissan Assault.

 

Tennis:

In her first match in a year, 40-year-old Serena Williams lost in a 3rd set tiebreaker to 115th-ranked Harmony Tan of France in round one at Wimbledon.

Canadians Bianca Andreescu and Denis Shapovalov are moving on to the second round at Wimbledon after first-round victories Tuesday. Another Canadian, Felix Auger-Aliassime isn’t though after he was upset by American Maxime Cressy in four sets.

CFL:

Week 4 of the CFL season starts Thursday (4:30 PT) with the (2-0) B.C. Lions visiting the (0-2) Ottawa Redblacks.

The Lions have outscored their opponents 103-18.

Lions QB Nathan Rourke, who was born in Victoria, has completed 65 of 74 passes in two games for 718 yards with seven touchdown passes and no interceptions.
