The construction of a new health and community centre at the McLeod Lake Indian Band is one step closer to reality.

A groundbreaking ceremony is taking place at Lot 68 Ah’Da Drive on Friday (July 15th) at 1 p.m.
The 18-million-dollar facility is estimated to open for public use in March 2024.
“We are excited to begin construction on the new Health and Community Wellness Centre this July,” said MLIB Chief, Harley Chingee.
“The new space will allow our community members to come together to celebrate, heal, and support one another while also accessing top-notch health services. Thank you to our partners who have helped to make this possible.”
The Health and Community Wellness Centre will feature a larger gymnasium for community gatherings and activities, a community kitchen, private and secure offices for health and social services staff, enhanced technology to allow family members that live outside of the area.
