Suspect vehicle in hit-and-run located with public help

The Prince George RCMP have located the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that occurred on July 13th.

Just before 10:00 that evening, had police received a report of a 13-year-old youth that was struck by a semi-trailer near the intersection of Highway 97 and 22nd Avenue.

The youth was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Our initial information gathering lead us to believe the suspect vehicle was a Bandstra truck. However, through investigation it was determined no Bandstra trucks were involved in the incident,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“The suspect vehicle has been located and our investigation is ongoing.”

Police are extending their thanks to the witnesses who came forward to speak with police on the matter.

“It is because of information given to investigators that the semi-truck involved in this incident has been located.”

Anyone with information about this incident is being asked to contact the Prince George RCMP.
