PG RCMP only need 15 minutes to round up city bus thief

It didn’t take long for the Prince George RCMP to locate a stolen city bus.

Just after 8:00 am this morning (Thursday), police received a report that the bus was stolen from the 1400-block of Edmonton Street.

Officers then located the bus on Highway 16 West, heading towards College Heights.

The suspect stopped the bus at the intersection of Domano Road and Moriarty Crescent and was later arrested.

The man was subsequently transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Police officers were able to stop the bus and arrest the suspect within 15 minutes of the theft being reported to police. Our quick response to this incident undoubtedly prevented any further incidents from occurring and kept others on the road safe,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

If anyone witnessed this incident or has dash cam footage they are asked to contact the local detachment.

The investigation is ongoing.
