Big Squeeze returns on Wednesday

The goal is $10,000 for the 10th anniversary.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern BC (BigsNBC) is returning the Big Squeeze lemonade stand competition on Wednesday (August 3rd).

Businesses across the city will be selling lemonade for four hours from 10-2pm, and some restaurants all day.

Since the first year of the event it has become massively successful, raising $80,000 in the past decade, and has been replicated in other communities across the country.

Jane Gauthier, (BigsNBC) Communications Manager, says “all of the money from this event will be allocated to our in school mentoring program.”

There will also be awards, the stakes are high.

There will be a best tasting category, as well as trophies for the highest raising restaurant and business during the day. BigsNBC has confirmed bragging rights are included.

The defending champions are Spruce Credit Union (Business category and top overall fundraiser), Browns Social House (Restaurant category) and the PG Chamber of Commerce (Best tasting).

This year, 29 locations across town will be participating. You can find out who and where here.
