Environment Canada is calling for temperatures in the mid-to-high 20’s in the Prince George area this week.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Derek Lee says a ridge of high pressure is going to be settling into the interior of British Columbia this week.
“Ridges of high pressure usually brings us our sunny skies, and with sunny skies in place, there’s no real cloud to block the sunlight from heating the surface,” Lee said.
“Naturally, we’re going to see temperatures soaring a little bit slightly above average from Monday until Wednesday.”
The warmest day this week is expected to be Wednesday, with temperatures around 28 degrees, about five degrees above normal.
Lee added it’s unlikely any temperature records will be broken this week.
“Our records for this time of year is around 33-35 degrees, way warmer than what we’re advertising for this week,” Lee said.
For the rest of summer, Lee said the PG area can expect warmer than average temperatures.
