“We want to create that community event that the kids look forward to all year long.”
Karmjeet Manhas, a co-founder of the Prince George Bike Family Festival (PGBFF), thinks the new family festival has what it takes to become a landmark community event.
“The event is participatory in nature. The difference is normally we are going to spectator events,” said Manhas. “In this case, it is something that you do.”
The festival will transform Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park into a glow in the dark sanctuary for bikers of all ages tomorrow night (Saturday), which was done in 2019 as well.
However, this year will be so much more.
“We were thinking, it is just so much work to set everything up and take everything down, lets add on to that.”
This year, Manhas stated, the park will be full of activities during the daytime as well.
Some of these events include live performers and music, workshops, face painting, yoga, artists, vendors, games, contests, prizes, a water gun fight, a kids carnival area, and more.
The event is designed with families and friends and friends in mind, and to bring “unity back into the community after two challenging years.”
