PG Studio’s Stephen King Rules film festival adds celebrity guests

It is one week until the August 19-21 weekend of the Stephen King Rules film festival, and some special surprises are in store.

The festival, put on by Prince George’s Barker Street Cinema, will feature 36 largely unseen Stephen King films for free online and in person in Davenport, Iowa.

According to Barker Street Cinema’s Norm Coyne, it all started with connections made at another Prince George event.

“Thanks to the relationships that we have built at Northern Fancon, we are adding some special guests that will be zooming in.”

The biggest name joining virtually will be Lou Ferrigno, best known for playing the Incredible Hulk in the 70’s TV series.

Also joining, Amber Nash (the voice of Pam on the hit series Archer), Ming Chen of AMC’s Comic Book Men, award winning screenwriter Marc Bernardin, author and frequent King collaborator Bev Vincent, and Scott Wampler and Eric Vespe from the Kingcast podcast.

They will all be interviewed over a zoom call during the weekend, and Coyne says if there is enough time, a Q&A will open up to the public at the end.

Barker Street Cinema are expecting “thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people.”

“If anyone wants to come out to Davenport Iowa, we would love to see you in the audience” Coyne said with a laugh, while mentioning that the entirety of the festival will also be streamed online, completely free.

Last year, the festival was smaller and only virtual, and was streamed in 28 countries with a peak concurrent 30,000 viewers.
