Mayor Lyn Hall not seeking re-election this fall

Prince George will have a new mayor come October 15th.

In an emotional speech at the end of tonight’s (Monday) City Council Meeting, Mayor Lyn Hall announced he would not be seeking re-election.

Hall took the time to thank his family for their support, as well his fellow Councillors, who gave him a standing ovation at the end of his address.

Hall started his career in municipal politics in 2001 when he won a seat as a School Trustee, spending 10 years on the School Board.

In 2011, he successfully ran for City Council, and went on to win the Mayor’s seat in 2014 and 2018.
