Precautionary lockdown at Kelly Road Secondary

Kelly Road secondary had a little scare earlier today.

This, after a group of youths were reported to be wielding what appeared to be a pellet gun just outside the school near Handlen Road in the Hart.

A lockdown procedure was put in place, and School administration were on the phone with the RCMP just minutes later, with officers locating the suspects and a vehicle shortly afterwards.

A single student was identified through investigation, which led to the seizing of the pellet gun, and investigators believe the youth exercised poor judgement and was not intent on causing problems.

No students were harmed and no charges are expected, as the investigation is still ongoing.
