Carl’s Jr. is expanding its Prince George operations.
A second location on the Hart Highway is under construction.
Owner/Operator, Kim Gill told MyPGNow.com they have faced some delays with the build and may not open until just before the fall.
“We have been pushed back quite a bit. We expected it to be open in May or June and then July and August rolled around. But, now we are looking at September. I don’t know there are saying mid-to-late September.”

Like any industry right now, supply chain issues have been a pretty big factor across the globe and this build has been no different according to Gill.
“They do have the outside pretty well done, it’s just the inside now. They are trying to put all of the rest of the stuff together but there’s quite a lot involved. You’ve got your furniture, you’ve got your equipment like the freezers and coolers – they all have to go in.”
“We are getting there. It seems to be the way of the world right now not just for us. It seems if you look around, everybody’s waiting for something. If it’s not people that they can’t find for whatever reason then it’s supplies. Wherever you look even in all of the food industries there has been a huge hit waiting on bacon, onion rings, and all sorts of stuff right now, we are dealing with chicken issues. Every day, it’s a new challenge.”
Carl’s Jr. opened its Westwood Drive storefront in 2016.
