The Prince George Cougars will start their 2015-16 regular season on home ice. The Cougars announced at their media Conference (where they unveiled the team’s new logo) that their 72-game schedule begins with a Friday-Sunday doubleheader at CN Centre September 25th and 27th against the Everett Silvertips.

The Cats official schedule, which includes most home games on weekends, will be made public this month. The Cougars training camp opens August 28th.

–The BX Pub Bandits exploded for seven goals in the 2nd period to dump the winless Cowboy Ranch Stylers 12-7 in Prince George Senior Lacrosse.

Cole Paciejewski scored five goals and added two assists for the 7-2 Bandits who are in 2nd place in the five team league. The Stylers slip to 0-9.

–PG Senior Lacrosse goes to Quesnel for a regular season game tonight (Thursday) at 8. The 2-6 Northland/Nissan Assault face the 4-4 Quesnel Crossfire.

–The Prince George Golf and Curling Club has been named Curling Centre of the Year, one of 15 awards handed out by Curl BC. Garnet Boese of Prince George took the Wally M’Lot Award for Official of the Year.

The PGGCC began the season without an ice plant. The Prince George Golf and Curling Club hosted the highly successful Canada Winter Games curling event and was home to several provincial championship participants, including Team Knezevic who won the BC Scotties.
 
Boese was instrumental in managing the officiating for all of the 27 draws at the Canada Winter Games. He also had sole responsibility for the scheduling and training of all of the timing officials.
