Pair of hat-tricks earns UNBC’s Henman Player of the Week

Not one, not two, but three goals, not once, but twice in a row.

Striker Michael Henman of the UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team scored historic back-to-back hat-tricks in Canada West Soccer action at Masich Place Stadium.

The stellar weekend earned Henman the honour of Canada West Player of the Week.

As far back as Canada West records go (2006), back-to-back hat-tricks had not been scored in Canada West Soccer before.

It was also the first time two hat-tricks had been recorded in a single Canada West season since 2018.

Henman’s first came Friday evening, as the Timberwolves knocked off the University of Victoria Vikes 4-1.

Henman was the only goal-scorer in Saturday’s rematch, as the Timberwolves took the 3-0 win.

With the two victories, the Timberwolves improved to 2-1-1 on the season, and sit third in the Pacific Division standings.

The Timberwolves will be on the road Friday, as they travel to Kamloops to take on the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack.
