UNBC Timberwolves:
Striker Michael Henman of the UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team is the Canada West Player of the Week.
Henman became the first player in league history to post back-to-back hat tricks.
In a doubleheader against the Victoria Vikes at Masich Place Stadium, he scored three goals in a 4-1 UNBC victory on Friday and added three more in a 3-0 triumph on Saturday.

The (2-1-1) UNBC men’s soccer team will play Friday and Saturday night at 7:45 in Kamloops against the (3-1) TRU WolfPack.

MLB:
Baltimore Orioles 9 Toronto Blue Jays 6
The loss ended the Jays five-game winning streak.
The same teams play again tonight Wednesday (4:05 PT) in Baltimore.
The (75-60) Blue Jays are 3rd in the A.L East and are holding down the third and final
wild-card spot in the American League (behind Tampa Bay and Seattle).
The (72-64) Orioles are 3 1/2 games behind the Jays for a playoff berth.

Hockey:
The Prince George Cougars play four preseason games with the first two this weekend in Port Coquitlam: Friday against Vancouver and Saturday vs. Victoria.
Prince George will also meet the Blazers Friday, September 16th in Kamloops before hosting the Blazers on Saturday, September 17th.
The regular season opens for the Cougars on Friday, September 23rd when they host the Tri-City Americans.

The Prince George Spruce Kings play the first of four preseason games Thursday against the Centennials in Merritt.
The Spruce Kings also host Merritt on Wednesday, September 14th, and Salmon Arm on the 15th before their final exhibition game on the 17th in Salmon Arm.
They open their regular season on the road, Friday, September 23rd at Coquitlam.

Caroline Garcia of France has advanced to her first Grand Slam semifinal of her career at age 28.
The 17th-seeded Garcia beat 18-year-old American and 12th seeded Coco Gauff 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals at the US Open.

The NFL regular season opens Thursday night at 5:20 (PT) with Buffalo Bills at the L.A. Rams.

Week 14 of the CFL season begins Friday night (4:30 PT) with the (8-2) B.C. Lions at the (4-7) Montreal Alouettes.
