PG RCMP catch violent offender twice in one week

It’s been a week to forget for one of Prince George’s most violent offenders.

Jason Rochard Zoet was arrested twice this week by the RCMP for breaching his conditions.

On September 2nd, an investigation was launched by police over a possible breach of conditons.

A short time later, Zoet was arrested and held in custody and returned to the community following a release order.

With concern for public safety in mind, a multi-unit team was created, consisting of police officers from our General Investigative Section, Sex-Crimes Unit, and Street Crew Unit. The investigators used a variety of strategies to monitor if Mr. Zoet was breaching his conditions, stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

On Tuesday (September 6th), police found Zoet again breaching his conditions, and was taken back into custody.

The B.C. Prosecution Service approved the following charges in these matters:

  • Fail to comply with probation x3
  • Fail to comply with release order x2
  • Indecent Act

Zoet will remain in custody until his next court appearance. These matters remain under investigation.
