City Hall to be closed Monday, other city services will continue

The City of Prince George has provided an update on how it will proceed on Monday, September 19th.

Yesterday (Tuesday), it was announced by the federal and provincial governments that Monday would be recognized as a national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II.

The City of Prince George will also be recognizing the day for city employees.

The City says city hall will be closed on Monday, but some operational needs will continue to be met:

  • All garbage scheduled for pick-up on Monday will proceed as normal.
  • Arenas that have been booked will remain available to those groups. Users are asked to contact the City if they plan to cancel.
  • Masich Place Stadium will be closed for public walking. Previously booked events will go forward.
  • Conference and Civic Centre bookings will be honoured. Users are asked to contact the City if they plan to cancel their event.
  • The City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, September 19th will be rescheduled to Wednesday, September 21st at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.
