PG resident suffers severe injuries in early morning rollover

Police in Prince George is reminding drivers to slow down and be more considerate of the weather conditions following a pair of motor vehicle incidents on Sunday.

Just after 2:30 am, RCMP traffic services attended a rollover on the 1000-block of Stirling Drive, when a vehicle went down the embankment.

The driver, a 38-year-old Prince George man, was the only one inside.

He was transported to the hospital by Emergency Health Services with severe injuries.

A couple of hours earlier, officers attended another single-vehicle crash where the driver lost control while heading down Peden Hill and the vehicle flipped onto its roof, pinning the driver inside.

According to the RCMP, the 21-year-old Alberta resident was uninjured.

“Prince George RCMP continues to investigate these incidents and believes speed to be a factor in both occurrences. As the weather begins to change now that we are getting into fall, bringing with it less favourable driving conditions, we are reminding all drivers to make safe choices and slow down when behind the wheel,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer.
