PG RCMP arrest known offender during vehicle theft

A 39-year-old woman who is known to police was taken into custody following a downtown vehicle theft.

Just after 4 pm on September 7th, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a vehicle theft in the area of 5th Avenue and Brunswick Street.

The victim told police he stepped out of his car briefly and a woman got into the driver’s seat and drove away with his blue Ford Ranger.

Officers located the vehicle just a few blocks away and arrested the driver without incident who was later identified as Leslie Marcia Odiorne.

“The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was checked over by B.C. Ambulance Staff at the location. Police transported Leslie Odiorne to the City detachment until she could appear in court,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges:

  • Robbery
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Fail to comply with release order

Odiorne will remain in custody until her next court appearance.
