Update: Road reopened after motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 near Handlen Road

Update: 10:45 p.m. (Monday)

Earlier story:

A two-vehicle crash is under investigation by the Prince George RCMP.

Just after 4:00 this afternoon (Monday) a car and a semi-unit made contact with each other at the intersection of Highway 97 near Handlen and Weisbrod Road.


Cpl. Craig Douglass told MyPGNow.com that motorists should avoid the area.

“The road has been closed from Austin Road north to Handlen and Weisbrod Road intersection and is expected to be closed for some time.”

Injuries have been reported but the extent of them is not known yet.

Drive B.C. expects the road to re-open around 11:00 tonight (Monday).
