Cook looking to turn down the noise with council bid

Richard Cook is running for Prince George City Council because of the noise coming from the CN Centre and Masich Place Stadium.

Cook, a now-retired probation officer and a long-time resident of Prince George said seniors can’t sleep because of the noise coming from Masich Place Stadium.

“The noise bylaw is set aside, when they have a permit, they can make as much noise as they like,” Cook said.

“The city, at times, is very difficult to work with, because Masich Place Stadium is not set up for people who live nearby. It’s a very noisy sound that infiltrates you house.”

He added he’s not happy with how things are done at City Hall.

“I intend to carry this out, because I don’t like what’s going at city hall, the way they treat people, and dismiss everything, including people who are complaining about the noise from the stadium,” Cook said.

Cook added his background as a parole officer would be able to help with homeless people downtown, as he knew many people in that position before.

The municipal election will take place on October 15th.
