New nightclub and show lounge will expand PG’s nightlife this week

The old Generator building is once again generating interest around town.

Ignite nightclub and show lounge will be opening its doors to the public next week.

“This place is set up, in a lot of ways, for the personality of Prince George” said Bernie Schneider, the Operations Manager of the club.

“We want it to look different and be different than any of the other places in town, and anything that has been in town before.”

He says the space will be a “hybrid nightclub and exotic dance location,” and that it will appeal to a lot of people that would frequent Alabis, which shut down permanently in 2020, as well as people who enjoy a night out at the club.

“If you want to come and watch exotic entertainment, you can do that. If you want to get on the dance floor, you can do that.”

They will be having a soft open tonight to VIPs – media, contractors who helped transform the space, family, friends, and others.

“The early reception, I think, is going to be pretty crazy” Schneider said. “The reaction on social media when we announced we were opening was really off the charts.”

Ignite will join Heartbreakers and Club 1177 in the Prince George club space, nightlife being an area that many in town say is woefully lacking.
