Quesnel RCMP seize firearms and make several arrests in search warrant

Quesnel RCMP say five people were arrested and seven firearms were seized in the execution of a search warrant yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

The North District Emergency Response Team was utlilized to assist with the execution of the warrant at around 2 o’clock in the 600 block of Fir Street.

Police say some of the occupants refused to come out, so diversionary tactics were deployed and all subjects were taken safely into custody.

Sergeant Clay Kronebusch says three men and two women were taken into custody.

“Four of the people have been released pending further investigation.  A 44-year old man remains in custody awaiting a court appearance.”

Kronebusch says some residents in the area reported the sound of gun shots, but he says there were no shots fired during this incident.

RCMP looking into assault that claimed a life in Valemount
