Prince George Fire Rescue Crews from three halls were called to a reported structure fire in the 5000 block of Crest Road this morning.
When they arrived, they found light smoke coming from the front door of the residence.
According to Fire Chief Cliff Warner, the occupants were alerted to an item fire in the garage, knocking down most of the flames before fire crews arrived.
Fire crews searched the residence for fire extensions, and overhauled the garage to ensure the fire had not spread.
The fire was held to the garage area, and there were no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical malfunction.
