Aging infrastructure near Site C dam to be upgraded

Project work on the Site C dam has begun, and this includes access to the site.

As a tender has been announced for the upgrading of three roads leading into the dam. These upgrades – in partnership with BC Hydro – will pave and upgrade nearly 8 km of roadway and will introduce new signal operations.

The road work is being done to improve the aging existing roads, and will smooth the surface, improve safety and dust control, and will make the roadways safer for cyclists and pedestrians.

Work is expected to start this Summer, and is expected to continue until September of 2016.
