PG police locate drugs, firearms during stolen vehicle investigation on Highway 97

The Prince George RCMP began their Halloween by arresting three known offenders following a stolen vehicle investigation in the Hart.

Just after 3 am on Monday, officers saw a vehicle travelling above the posted speed limit on Highway 97 right by Austin Road and then pulled into a nearby gas station.

However, Cpl. Jennifer Cooper told MyPGNow.com that as they continued on with their investigation, officers discovered a number of items.

“Three people associated with the vehicle were detained for the investigation. One of the suspects was found with a pistol-style pellet gun in their pocket; a subsequent search of the vehicle located a loaded firearm, several more pellet guns, suspected methamphetamine and psilocybin, and a large quantity of cash, which are consistent with drug trafficking.”

She added the RCMP are trying to do their part to put a dent into drug activity in our city.

“Drug trafficking remains one of the priorities for the Prince George RCMP. It brings a lot of associated violence and other crimes with it and we remain committed to try and hammer down on those who are responsible for these types of crimes.”

All suspects were released without charge. The file remains under investigation.
