Live fire training will be taking place at YXS this evening.
The training will start at 4:00, and last until 8:00 p.m.
Fire training will also take place on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The PG Airport Authority says these fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and pose no risk to the public or the surrounding areas.
These fires are held as a part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.
The fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area.
