Wallace Crescent outbuilding fire causes $200,000 in damages

Prince George Fire Rescue was called out to Shady Valley this morning on a report of an outbuilding fire.

According to Assistant Chief, Kevin Woodhouse, the call came in at 7:34 this morning (Tuesday), and two halls with 11 members responded.

When they arrived at the 3100 block of Wallace Crescent, the incoming crew reported there were two outbuildings, one of which was fully involved.

Fire crews ensure the occupants of the home were safe, and quickly suppressed the fire while protecting all other surrounding structures.

“The fire caused $200,000 in damage, however, no civilians or fire personnel was hurt or injured in this fire,” Woodhouse said.

PG Fire Rescue would like to take this opportunity to remind everybody to ensure recommended clearances around portable heating units and electrical equipment are followed.
