PG RCMP say 1st Avenue structure fire not suspicious in nature

A late-night structure fire on the 19-hundred block of 1st Avenue has been deemed not suspicious by the Prince George RCMP.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper confirmed to MyPGNow.com the derelict building was being occupied by transient residents who were using it as a temporary shelter.

Saturday’s blaze resulted in $100,000 in damage after it was reported an outbuilding was fully involved by local firefighters.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire with no damage done to any nearby buildings.
