BCHL: 

Prince George Spruce Kings  5  Alberni Valley Bulldogs  2

The Spruce Kings outshot the Bulldogs 37-18 and got goals from five different players before 651 fans at the Kopar Memorial Arena.

The (11-5-1-1) Spruce Kings visit the (7-9-1-1) Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday and the (18-0) Penticton Vees on Saturday.

Prince George is 3rd in the 9-team Interior Division.

WHL:

The (10-9) Prince George Cougars visit the (3-14-3) Victoria Royals on Friday and Saturday.

The Cougars lead the B.C. Division by one point over the Kamloops Blazers, but the (8-4-2-1) Blazers have four games in hand.

The (5-9-2) Northern Capitals play in Kelowna against the (4-7-0-1) Thompson-Okanagan Lakers Friday night at 5:15, Saturday afternoon at 1:15, and Sunday morning at 8:30.

Canada West sports:

29 student-athletes at UNBC have been recognized as Academic All-Canadians for the 2021-2022 school year.

The annual U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian ceremony honors students who have achieved a Grade Point Average of 3.67 (an A- letter grade) or higher.

The 29 Timberwolves who achieved Academic All-Canadian is the most in a regular academic year in UNBC history.

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Fraser Valley Cascades Friday night at 6:00 and 8:00 and Saturday night at 5:00 and 7:00 in Canada West basketball.

UNBC is 2-2 (Men) and 0-4 (women) while Fraser Valley is 2-2 (men) and 4-0 (women).
