Lara Beckett named new Board Chair of Regional District of Fraser-Fort George

For the first time since 2007, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has a new board chair.

Lara Beckett, who serves Electoral Area C, which is Chilako River-Nechako was elected via acclamation.

Art Kaehn (Electoral Area E, Hixon-Woodpecker) was elected to the role of Vice Chair.

Previously, Beckett served as Vice-Chair over the past four years while Kaehn had served as Board Chair for the last 15 years.

In addition, the Board approved the following request for Community and Recreation Grants:

 $5331 to the Nukko Environmental Lake Weed Society for insurance
 $7350 to the Pilot Mountain Recreation Commission for insurance, operations and program expenses
 $20,000 to the Pineview Volunteer Firefighters Association for turnout gear
 $4500 to the Bear Lake Recreation Commission for insurance
 $263 to the McBride District Volunteer Firefighters Association for facility rental
 $500 to the Old Age Pensioners’ Organization #118 for operating expenses
