Penalties plague Spruce Kings as Penticton stays perfect

If you’re going to take penalties in the BCHL, the Pentiction Vees may not be the best team to take them against.

The Prince George Spruce Kings found that out the hard way in a 4-1 loss to the still-undefeated Vees.

Jake Schneider gave the Spruce Kings a lead just 95 seconds into the 2nd period in front of 2,718 fans at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

After that is when the penalty trouble started for Prince George.

The Vees scored three straight powerplay goals off the sticks of Bradly Nadeau, Jackson Nieuwendyk, and Josh Nadeau.

The added one even-strength marker three seconds after another Spruce Kings penalty expired.

The full box score can be found here.

Pentiction has won all 20 of their games so far this season.

The Spruce Kings (12-6-1-1) sit third in the BCHL’s Interior Division Standings, one spot behind the West Kelowna Warriors. (12-5-2-0)

The full standings can be found here.

The Warriors will make their way to Prince George for a double header with the Spruce Kings this weekend (Nov. 25th and 26th) at Kopar Memorial Arena.

Puck drop for both games is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
