Police in Prince George investigating early morning robbery

The Prince George RMCP are investigating a robbery that happened early Saturday morning.

Police say the incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. near Ospika Boulevard and Reid Crescent.

Mounties say the victim reported he was walking in the area and was attacked from behind, and his wallet and a watch were stolen.

He was not seriously injured.

Surveillance from a home in the area shows two people getting out of a dark-couloured, newer model Chevrolet pickup and following the victim out the line of sight of the surveillance.

“This is the second report of physical attacks on members of the public in one week,”: said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“We are taking these reports very seriously, and are looking for any information that may assist police in identifying a suspect in either investigation.”

Cooper added there is currently no information linking these attacks.

“We urge the public to be aware of their surroundings if they are walking during the darker hours, and to report anything suspicious to police,” Cooper said.

Police are asking anyone in the area who may have seen the attack or have dash cam or surveillance footage to contact the Prince George RCMP detachment.
